"Which lace option should I pick?"
Selecting the right lace for your needs and wants is essential for your install.

Swiss Lace - This can be used on all skin tones and the lace is durable and good for everyday wear. We recommend for the best blend, the lace will need to be tined or make up applied to colour match to your or your clients skin tone. Some darker skinned customers may prefer to have medium brown lace, if this is the case please email us at contact@novushair.co.uk and we can further advise you.

HD Lace - Also known as 'Film Lace', this is the thinest lace we offer and can be used on all skin tones. We recommend you apply lace tint or make up to ensure the best match to your or your clients skin tone. The nature of this lace is very delicate and can be prone to ripping, please handle this lace with care.

If you are concerned about what will work for you, please email us at contact@novushair.co.uk and we can further advise you.

"What is the difference between raw and virgin hair?"

Within the industry there are many opinions on what is raw and virgin hair. This can make it hard for people to shop, understand what to look for and how to ensure they are buying the correct hair quality. At NOVUS Hair, we offer both raw and virgin hair and both are of the highest standard. Here, we aim to help you understand the difference so you can make an educated decision on which is best for you.

Raw Hair

Raw hair in the hair extension industry refers to completely untreated, natural hair sourced directly from single donors. It retains its original texture and quality without any chemical processing. The emphasise with raw hair is that it should be in its complete original state with no manipulation. Each natural curly or wavy bundle may differ in colour or curl as they are from single donors - no two people have identical hair curls or waves. Any hair marketed as 'raw' with uniform curls, kinks or 'bone' straight are not raw and have likely been chemically or steamed processed. This does not necessarily mean the hair is of low quality, it just is not truly raw hair.
Virgin Hair
On the other hand, virgin hair usually undergoes some minimal treatments like steaming (these treatments can also be chemical) to achieve the desired look for the hair. This can be different curl textures, bone straight hair, kinky curly ect. - these textures are man made. Virgin hair unlike raw hair, is a collection of hair from multiple donors.
"Do I pick a frontal or a closure?"
Choosing between a frontal and a closure largely depends on your preference, the hairstyle you want to achieve, and your lifestyle.
Frontals offer versatility in styling because they cover the entire front hairline from ear to ear. You can part your hair anywhere, wear it pulled back, or in high ponytails without revealing the hairline. They come in two size offerings 13x4 and 13x6. Frontals mimic a natural hairline, giving you a more realistic appearance. Frontals typically require more maintenance as they need to be properly installed and maintained. They also need regular washing and styling to maintain their appearance if you choose to apply with lace adhesives.
Closures are simpler to install and maintain compared to frontals. They only cover a small portion of the hairline, usually a few inches. They range in sizes from 2x6, 4x4, 5x5, 6x6 and 7x7. While closures also offer a natural look when customised, they may not provide as much versatility in styling as frontals, especially when it comes to parting options. Closures can be styled to create 'mini frontals' which have the appearance of a frontal but the ease of a closure. Some people find closures more comfortable to wear because as they do not cover the entire front hairline.
"Will three bundles be enough?"
Three bundles is typically enough as an industry standard. Our bundles are thick and they are enough for our customers. Some people enjoy having an extra full look, if this is something you like, four bundles may be an option for you. The longer your lengths typically the thinner the bundle is. We recommend if you are going over the lengths 26" we suggest four bundles for a fuller look.
